Two markets depending on the town's threshold
In a town that has reached the threshold of one 3rd or 4th-category establishment per 450 residents, no new Licence III can be created: buyers have to buy one, and the market value rises.
In a town below the threshold, an entrepreneur can sometimes create their own licence: the market value there is more moderate, and the value of your licence lies mainly in the time it saves the buyer.
Where demand comes from
Licence III buyers open wine bars, beer bars, wine and small-plates bars, delicatessens with tastings or restaurants that want to serve outside meals. These concepts are concentrated in town centres, lively neighbourhoods and tourist areas.
What makes the market value rise or fall
| Pushes the market value up | Brings the market value down |
|---|---|
| 450-resident threshold reached in the town | New licences can be created in the town |
| Lively town centre, tourist area | Few projects in the area |
| Transfer possible to a dynamic town | Licence close to five years without operation |
